The Forest Burned Today

January 18, 2019rlbussellcalifornia, fire, forest, history, poems, poetry, remembering

The figures lost are figured
Like tallies on a slate
And the faceless members climb
Like smoke against a wall.

Paradise is gone now;
blackened, captured by the wind.
